Case Study

Kolorseal - Factory virtual tour with integrated video

The client

Kolorseal is one of the UK’s industry leading colour coating specialists for windows, doors, and roofline.

Deborah Hendry, owner and Managing Director of Kolorseal, approached VisualEyes as she wanted to showcase the factory and processes to demonstrate to potential customers that they are not “a back street sprayer” but a highly skilled team with a world class facility and processes to deliver the highest quality colour spraying. Being able to demonstrate the scope and capabilities of the company was important for Deborah, wanting to optimise the company’s experience and skillset in an open and creative way.

The project

VisualEyes ran a special offer package to manufacturers which comprised of a fully branded virtual tour of their premises and 8 interactive videos. These videos are embedded into the virtual tour to provide information about each part of the process to the online viewer as the walk around the factory. The 8 videos can also be utilised across social media, and we provide YouTube channel creation and management to optimise the videos for SEO.

Deborah also wanted a full promotional video creating, including drone footage both inside and outside the factory (this video is at the top of this page.) At VisualEyes we maximise the video assets we create. By repurposing the content, we shot for the 8 videos the promo video was created very cost effectively.

Our solution

After a full recce of the factory and pre-production meetings with Deborah and Helen, Kolorseal’s marketing expert, we had a schedule of works for the capture of the virtual tour and filming.

Their 40,000sq ft factory in Huddersfield was captured on a bank holiday Monday morning in May. This process requires the premises to be empty of personnel and no moving machinery, so we always capture virtual tours when the business is closed.

The day of filming was scheduled, and the shot list was tightly written to minimise disruption to Kolorseal’s works schedule. The employees were all made aware we were filming including drone flying and use of our specialist 16ft jib. The jib enables full 360 degree camera movement to capture the most dramatic elements of the factory.

With kind weather and a successful days filming we entered the post production process. This comprises editing the video footage, rendering the virtual tour and then overlaying our custom software to produce the custom branded interactive tour. Once all the assets were finalised and signed off by Deborah and Helen we entered the delivery phase.

The impact

Working with their web designers and PR we embedded the completed virtual tour and videos into their website. As part of our service, we extract images and short videos from the virtual tour for use across social media to drive awareness and traffic to their new marketing asset.

Full launch took place in early July. In the first 6 weeks since launch 176 people have visited the virtual tour spending an average of nearly 4 mins freely walking around and watching the videos detailing the processes.

On Kolorseal’s newly created YouTube channel their 8 videos have already gained a combined 300 views in their short life online, all driving awareness of the Kolorseal brand and traffic to the Kolorseal website.

We are not done yet! We have produced a comprehensive brochure that details how to maximise their new marketing assets with on going innovative ways to repurpose, revitalise and remarket. For example, we recommended hiding a digital Geri the Giraffe within their virtual tour and run a Halloween treasure hunt competition. This will not only drive traffic to their virtual tour and get people to walk around their factory, it also data captures those that enter the competition when they find Geri.

“Visual Eyes are very professional and creative. It was great to work with a company that knows their stuff. Very pleased with the results. Thank you, Alan and your team
